Our MissionOur mission is to develop and license the technology to manufacture a new revolutionary rotary engine.
Company ProfileDeFazio Rotary, Inc. was established in 2002 to own all patents dealing with a revolutionary new rotary internal combustion engine. Through out this Web Site you will notice pictures from the various phases of the project. The pictures below will help you understand the three major versions of the engine. Although they look different, they all operate on the same basic principles.
Summary DeFazio Rotary, Inc. is organized as a corporation of the Commonwealth of Virginia to do research and development so as to demonstrate the new rotary internal combustion engine and to obtain more patents for the rotary engine technology started by Robert "Bob" DeFazio. DeFazio Rotary, Inc will license this technology to existing engine manufacturers for them to produce and sell the engines. DeFazio Rotary, Inc will lease the patent rights to all existing engine manufacturers so as to maximize the potential to reach the market quickly. Click on the following to view Videos of the Provisional Patent Engine. The DeFazio Rotary Engine has the following advantages over the normal engine:
The DeFazio Rotary Engine is somewhat of a missing link between the normal reciprocating engine and a turbine (or jet) engine. It is also a missing link between a 4-stroke and two-stroke engine. The DeFazio Rotary Engine is a desirable replacement for every internal combustion engine that is produced and is a more suitable power source for some turbine applications. This includes: Automobiles, Trucks, Airplanes, Lawnmowers, Tractors, Boats, Motorcycles, Auxiliary power for a Hybrid Electric Vehicle, chain saws, generators, leaf blowers, go-carts, 4-wheelers, etc. Applications also include areas where turbines or jet engines are now used such as: Abrams Tanks, Ships, and Medium Sized Airplanes (All Turboprop type). Applications also include large torque applications like a Locomotive Engine. It opens up a new dimension in miniaturization (especially in the adiabatic version). The automobile market alone is capable of generating $2.4 Billion per year in license revenue. A typical mass-produced engine should cost less than the current engine/transmission combination because there are fewer parts. A lighter, more powerful, more fuel efficient, cleaner burning, less thermally polluting, less expensive engine should be easy to sell for use in automobiles, trucks, aircraft, boats, military vehicles, locomotives, turboprop jets, small power sources, etc.
